Whoever dons the Bucky Badger suit against Michigan State needs to remember one simple rule: Don’t steal the Sparty flag.
Bucky learned that the hard way in 1999 when the mascot was tackled by a Spartans cheerleader upset that Bucky had stolen a Michigan State flag.
According to the original Wisconsin State Journal report, “the cheerleader was so remorseful that both sides agreed not to press charges.”
Wisconsin got the last laugh, rolling Michigan State, 40-10.
